Last semester of college, my friends and I decided to have a little tail gating party of our own. My friend Adam suggested we waited till college was out, just in case we got in trouble during the party and was penalized for missing classes. When Summer finally hit, we really started partying it up. His dad owned a fifth wheel RV, so we pulled that thing all Summer long hitting up all of the great camping spots. A road trip sounded like it would be the best way to describe it, but we just called it a rolling party. Every time we’d pull up to a campsite, we’d jump out of that thing and get Bryan’s “Boom Box” out of the back of his Chevrolet, hook that to our Honda generator, and start blasting the music. We’d really wake up everyone in the neighborhood. It was fantastic!

The best thing about the Honda generator was that it was so quiet, it didn’t interrupt out music at all. My friends are big drinkers, but I was in it for the ladies. My father said that I was more of a ladies man anyways. Finally, I told him I was going to live up to my name that Summer.

On one of our stops, the clouds had been rolling over us all day. Finally, the lightning started striking with the thunderous roars of thunder! Before you know it, everything went out! I did not know it at the time but that was a bad idea. We woke up the next day and there was no wildlife to be seen anywhere. So we decided to go hunting in some open fields by the camper that is where we last seen any deer. We hunted all day and did not see one deer. I told my friend I think I know why. My generator running so loud and smoking so bad ran them off.

I decided I was not going to let that old generator ruin another hunting trip. I threw away my old generator. I wanted to get a new Honda generator. On my trip to Kansas, There was blue sky’s for miles. Little did I know that all would change. I had just bought a new A&E awning for my camper. I had paid 600 bucks for this awning. So we had finally made it after 12 hours of driving. we pull up to the camp ground for the night. So we park and let the awning down. Me and my wife are soaking up the suns rays watching the kids playing. The kids are having a great time screaming and yelling. The neighbors came to visit and have a barbeque.

So we are all sitting around the fire and grill. My neighbor had the radio on listen to the weather. A storm was blowing in from the Rockies. It was heading towards us fast. So I look up and the storm had made its way toward us. So in panic I start to load everything up in the camper. My wife is scrambling to get the kids in the Camper. Then we heard the sirens going off, That’s when wife wife reminded me I left the A&E Awning  awning down so I stop to get out, by this time the storm is hear it felt like 150 mph winds. I began trying to take the awning down when the wind rips it from my hands blowing it off the camper, and shredding everything.

We headed back home at the end of the week, without a awning! We get back home and I am severely aggravated. The awning I purchased was brand new! On my trip to Kansas, I decided to stop at a RV dealer. My wife and I was scrolling through. My thetford toilet in my RV was messing up and not flushing. So we finally get to the camp ground, and my mother in law decided she was going to cook. I knew it would be a bad night at that moment, because she is Cajun. I don’t like spicy foods, neither does my stomach.

So after dinner were all gathered around the table, relaxing and enjoying the trip. Then I see my father in law take off from the table running to the rest room. I knew my Thetford toilet only had one or two flushes left. We all knew what was going on. I could feel it in my bones I was going to have to fix the toilet so it would flush when he is done. Guys you don’t know your father in law until you have to see his crap! Then comes the rumbling in my stomach. Here it came. I ran to the bathroom only to forget my father in law was in there. So I had to continue to wait for him to get done. So I finished up in the bathroom. The next morning I remember what happened. The worst is yet to come I said to my self. I have to fix the toilet! So by about 5:00 o clock I get the toilet fixed.

I was covered in only God knows what. My shoes and my new shirt is now ruined. After I spent all day trying to fix it the toilet will not flush. But where would I find a new Thetford toilet at a great price? I went back to the RV dealer I had stopped at. They had sold the last toilet they had in stock. Last September on my anniversary, my wife and I were camping in the great outdoors while it started pouring the rain. We went back indoors to the cozy comfort of our RV and enjoyed a cup of java and played a game of 2-person Rook. That has always been a great game. As a matter of fact, that is how my wife and I first met each other. We were sitting around a table and a friend introduced her to me while playing cards and she jumped right in. Now its been almost 30 years since we were sitting at that table, and we’re still enjoying the same game.

Later I turned on the radio to listen to the news, and actually tuned in right during the weather alert. It kept saying that the storm was only going to get worse and that everyone needed to find shelter as soon as possible. My wife went and got our security lights, blankets, candles, and some flash lights in case something did happen. The wind was howling severely and I could feel it rocking my RV. After about sitting up for 2 hours longer the usual, my wife and I finally decided to settle down for bed and let the storm take it’s course. About 3 hours after we had fallen asleep, the storm subsided and had left us completely. The next morning I got up to see how bad the creek was and noticed something green blocking my view out the window. At that moment, I knew my awning had been smashed by something. I tried to open the door, but noticed something was stuck behind it blocking my path. I got a good shove started and finally forced it to open. My girlfriend and I have always enjoyed camping since we were teenagers. When we first met 6 years ago, we were both teenagers camping with our family down in a little valley known as Get It Valley. We always enjoyed camping, even in our youth. Since that is how we met, we always come back here and spend a whole week at a time. The funny part is, there is never anyone here. It is as if no one knows about this little hideout. That is why it was so strange to see someone else there other than my own family. It was like fate brought us together.

Just last year when we went, we went down to the water’s edge and pitched a tent. After getting settled in, we lit our lantern as a night light and tucked in. Finally, I could hear thunder off in the distance and the wind started howling. I knew that there was a storm coming, but we’d been waiting all year for this and we’d both done scheduled off work for a week. We got out of our bed in the tent and started moving stuff up the creek a bit to save it in case the water got a little bit too rapid. After getting all of our gear back out of the danger zone and getting settled back in bed, we cuddled on up and went to sleep.

Once daylight hit, Rochelle said she was dripping wet. I felt down and so was I. The water had actually got into the tent and soaked us from the waste down and we hadn’t even felt it. I went outside and over half of our camping supplies were missing. I literally freaked out. We went ahead and had to call our trip to an end. I had a lot of camping supplies that was give to me as gifts, so I really had no idea where I could get replacements. I asked my self how could you forget this weekend is Super Bowl weekend! So I come out of Wal-Mart running to the RV. My wife was panicking wondering what was wrong. I yelled it’s Super Bowl weekend! It was Wednesday, and the super bowl was on Sunday. How was I going to ever watch the Saints take on the Colts? We got to the camp ground of where were staying. I have been asking all the neighbors in the campground if they had satellite TV. they all did not have any satellites.

I got to the last person in the campground. He did not have one either. He did tell me about a great website with RV parts. He said they had quick and friendly service and fast shipping. Last year my family and I decided to go fishing, and camping in the Rockies. We left from Maine so it was a big drive. It took about 26 hours. We finally make it to the camp ground. I dropped the camper and plugged it up for the electricity. We decided to go to the lake nearby the campground. We spent most of the day at the lake about. We were all sun burnt to a crisp.

So when we got back to the campground the neighbors invited us to a barbeque. The kids were running around screaming and playing volley ball with the neighbors. So we decided to get back to the camper. It was starting to get dark so we decided to relax and watch some TV. Then that is when everything turned around. A thunderstorm came in and put everyone’s electricity out. I go out side and turned on my generator. My generator is very loud it’s a older model. Before the night was up about 8 neighbors came to me saying my generator is to loud, that they couldn’t sleep. So like a good neighbor, I turned it off for the night.

I hated going all night without power to my camper. I just did not know where I could find a good deal on a great generator. My wife and
