When you can’t get hooked up to city water, a Shurflo water pump will provide your RV with water for your sinks, showers, etc. This is really necessary when you are on the road, or when you camp at a location that does not provide city-water hookups.

Once, my family and I were traveling through Nevada, and we had just left a campground that had city-water hookups. We took care of everything that needed our attention before we left the campground, and we really didn’t expect to need to use any water for the next few hours of our trip.

But then we got a flat tire, and we really were out “in the middle of nowhere.” For several hours, we waited for roadside assistance, and during that time we ended up needing to eat, and wash our hands, and use the toilet. We didn’t have any problems at first, but then our water pump stopped working. We’d had it for many years and really hadn’t given it much attention, as far as maintenance goes. Soon we came to the realization that we were in trouble, though, because once the RV was fixed, we still had a very long distance to go before we would reach any city-water hookups.

So we stopped at the first town we came across and parked at a cheap motel where they allowed us to stay for free, fortunately. We called our favorite provider of RV parts–<a href="http://www.rvpartscountry.com"target="_self"title="rv parts " >RV Parts Country–and we ordered a brand new Shurflo water pump.

Believe it or not, even in the middle of the desert in a remote, small town, we still got that pump delivered to us at the motel the next day! With the new pump installed, we were ready for the rest of our trip, and we had a wonderful time together.

You can always count on RV Parts Country when you need a part fast!!!

What is the most annoying aspect of camping, according to many folks?

A lack of public restrooms in the woods.

Now, if you have an RV, you don’t have to worry about this so much. But there are pop-up campers and trailers that do not have toilets, so even though you’re able to go where you want and set up a place to stay while you’re there, you still won’t have a toilet to call your own, right?

Not if you have a Porta Potti! Thetford brand Porta Pottis (and yes, they are spelled that way on purpose) are an amazing item you really should not be without. Even if you have a camper equipped with a toilet of its own, the Porta Potti is small enough and portable enough to leave your camper and go with you into the woods or onto a boat; or it can be used as an emergency backup in case something goes wrong with your motorhome’s plumbing.

Portable toilets may seem like a funny topic, but the issue becomes quite serious when you find yourself in an uncomfortable position, having nowhere to go while really “needing to go!”

The Porta Potti comes in different sizes, and at least one model even has a battery-operated flushing mechanism! They contain deodorant compartments to eliminate unpleasant scents, a “no-spill” cap to prevent spills, removable seats and covers to make cleaning a snap, and they are lightweight yet sturdy.

There are many other reasons to own a portable toilet such as this, but the most important and obvious one is pretty clear: you never know when you’re RV’s toilet will quit working. If this happens to you, and you have no portable toilet, and you are on the road far away from civilization, what are you going to do?

Order a Porta Potti from RV Parts Country!

My RV is just fantastic. If I had one word to describe it, it would be “perfect!” My family and I have been everywhere in it. There is plenty of room for whatever you need to do. Sure, it looks a little rough on the outside, but its been faithful for all these years so I’m not really worried about it. I have bragged to everyone I work and camp with about it. I’ve went years without having to buy any RV parts for it. I think of myself as a lucky man. Well, the sad thing is, last week it seems like everything went wrong on my RV. Everyone said that bragging would lead to bad luck. I fell right off of my high horse that day.

My wife, kids, and I had just pulled up on the campground last week for what we thought was going to be some family fun. I sure was wrong about that. I noticed that my left tail light was out on arrival. Later that night, I went to take a shower, and wouldn’t you know it, the water holding tank had a crack in it and the water had dripped out on the way to the campsite. This was such a mess. There wasn’t an RV parts place around anywheres. The family and I decided just to wing the rest of the trip and make the best of it, so while sitting down for some tv time, I noticed that I had no reception. So to find out, my satellite had just stopped working for no apparent reason. We had to turn around and just go home. I hated to do this, but we didn’t have any other choice.

When we got back to the house, my wife got on the internet and started looking for the parts I needed at a discount price. That’s when we stumbled upon <a href="http://www.rvpartscountry.com"target="_self"title="rv parts " >RV Parts Country. We ordered all of our parts we needed, and the great part was, we got them literally in 2 days. This allowed us the time to go back on our trip before my kids’ spring break was over. I would like to personally thank my friends at RV Parts Country, and to let you know that when we have another RV disaster, you’ll be hearing from us!

We knew we had made a great purchase when we first bought our new motorhome. For years, we had planned on getting one, and the time had finally arrived. It was big, it was beautiful, and it was our “baby.” But once we got it out on the road and began to use it, we quickly noticed that something was missing. Not just one thing, but several things, in fact.

The RV needed some RV accessories, without a doubt. True, our motorhome was a sight to behold, but the more we began to use the thing, the more clearly we realized that we needed a lot of “little things” and “extras” to make it more like a new home to us.

Of all the RV accessories out there, the ones we needed most, naturally, were toilet supplies. “Drop-ins” and special RV toilet paper are not just a necessity, they prevent us from having a lot of issues related to our RV’s plumbing. Similarly, we needed sewer hoses for emptying our RV’s sewage system.

The toilet was not the only part of our bathroom that could use some accessorizing. We ended up having to buy a toothbrush holder, soap holder, and even a towel rack to really make our restroom more comfortable and cozy.

But all the <a href="http://www.rvpartscountry.com/RV-Accessories_c_23.html"target="_self"title="rv accessories" >RV accessories we needed weren’t just confined to our beautiful bathroom. After our very first trip to Arizona, we discovered we needed awnings and shades, and we had to make sure our water pump was in excellent working condition.

There really are hundreds, if not thousands, of RV accessories to choose from when trying to make your RV more like your “home away from home.” The list goes on and on, and you can find virtually anything on that list at RV Parts Country, so visit them online or give them a call to place an order today.

Last summer, the kids and I decided to go on a vacation out west to the Rocky Mountains. The weather was beautiful! There wasn’t a cloud in the sky. I knew that my week out with my two sons was going to be perfect. I just couldn’t have asked for a better week!

Little did I know that my new 2005 Laredo would start having problems only after 4 uses. When we got to the campsite and unloaded, I realized that the septic tank line seemed to be leaking. I really didn’t pay any attention and kept on unpacking my gear. Next, I went to let the awning out on my camper, and I realized that there was a 9 inch long tear in it. I had backed into some trees the previous year and didn’t think I hurt anything. Since the sun was shining, I wasn’t worried about the tear, so we let it out anyways.

Later that night, storm clouds started rolling in. Like always, the weather channel had given a wrong prediction. My sons and I packed up our stuff and decided to go back in and continue our fun indoors with a game of rummy. The real downer was that while sitting around the table, water started dripping faster and faster right in front of us. The new forecast was giving hard rain until next week.

The only good news was that I knew a trustworthy company to get camper parts from. I talked to my friends at RV Parts Country and they recommended some sealant, an awning, and a new sewer hose all at a ridiculously low price. The really great part was that I received my order the very next day! I’m very grateful to them, because they saved my camper floors from rotting, and most importantly, they saved my sons’ school vacation from being a total disaster.

Thank you <a href="http://www.rvpartscountry.com"target="_self"title="rv parts " >RV Parts Country! I know where I’m gonna go the next time I need camper parts and fast, friendly service.

On a recent camping trip, me and my family went out to the lake for a weekend to ourselves for some quality alone time. The sun was shining, the fish were biting, and the all of my problems had just dissapeared. My wife had just fixed this awesome dinner of fried chicken, okra, mashed potatoes, corn, and rice. Me, being the food-loving person that I am, ate until I couldn’t move. I just sat down in my lounge chair to hopefully sit off my full belly. Well, like anyone else who consumes such a mass amount, I had to use the restroom. I thought to myself, that’s not a problem, I’ll just go in the RV and settle my issues I had with my stomach. After getting done with my business, I realized that the commode wouldn’t flush. Harder and harder did I push on the flange, but yet, nothing happened. I couldn’t believe what had happened. How could such a perfect weekend turn into such a disaster?

I told my wife and kids about the situation, and we were miles from civilization, let alone a parts dealer for an RV. We could’ve asked the other campers to use their restroom, but I was too insecure for that. My wife insisted we should go back home, but the look on my daughter’s face broke my heart when she heard it. I knew I couldn’t turn back. Lucky for me, I noticed the kids texting on the phones, meaning we actually had service out here in the middle of nowhere. I called my brother back home and explained the situation, and he recommended I contact RV Parts Country, a dealer who specialized in parts. I called them up, and asked if they had anything to fix the problem, and they did. I was so relieved. In my model of RV, it was apparently a common problem and I was actually recommended to buy the portable toilet. So in my order, I bought the Porta Potti 465, a 5.5 gallon holding tank and a 4 gallon fresh water tank just in case the problem persisted.

Just last week, my family and I decided to go back out on the open road before their summer break was over. They had laughed at the thought of my portable toilet I bought, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. So when we arrived at our spot, my eldest son grabbed his belly and exclaimed he’d be right with us in a few. The next thing I heard was, “Dad! Where is the Porta Potti 465?” I laughed to myself and grabbed it out of the back and handed it to him. Seemingly, there had been a water leak from a small hole in the top of the roof leaking right into the bathroom floor. I had no idea. James, my son, literally fell through the floor when walking into the restroom. Lucky for him, I decided to buy the portable toilet. He later apologized to me, and now I recommend one to everybody, because you never know when you’re going to have a septic problem. Like I’ve always said, better be safe than sorry.

When you stop at your favorite destination in your RV and really settle down for an overnight stay, you’re going to want to spend some time outside. This allows you to stretch your legs, get some fresh air, eat a tasty meal with friends or fellow campers, and maybe even start a campfire and sing some campfire songs with your kids.

There are a number of RV accessories that really make your camping experience more satisfying when you spend time outside the vehicle. Many people find that they simply cannot have as much fun or relaxation without some of these <a href="http://www.rvpartscountry.com/RV-Accessories_c_23.html"target="_self"title="rv accessories" >RV accessories.

At the top of the list you’ll find awnings. These create a large area of shade right next to your RV, allowing you to spend time outside without having to worry about finding a shaded location to park your camper. They also allow you to spend time outdoors in sunnier climates without the fear of getting sunburned or heat stroke.

Right up there with the awnings, you’ll find most RV owners love their outdoor recliners. These chairs are a perfect complement to awnings, allowing you to relax in comfort and style in the shade.

And once you’re outside having some quality time with your friends and family, you can use awning or party lights to illuminate the night and invite a more festive feeling into your environment.

Picnic table covers and clamps, cooking utensils, cookbooks, placemats, and dining utensils can all make your outdoor dining experience more comfortable and satisfying.

Don’t forget–there are plenty of other RV accessories available from RV Parts Country, ranging from books to bathroom and laundry supplies. Whatever you need for your RV, you’ll find it there!

You just purchased your first RV. You already know that it comes with all of the luxuries of a home, so you are extremely satisfied with your purchase. One thing that you are disappointed that it did not come with is an accessory to provide shade or shelter on the outside of the vehicle. Because of this, one of the most popular aftermarket upgrades of an RV is the purchase of an awning. <a href="http://www.rvpartscountry.com/RV-Awnings-_c_141.html"target="_self"title="rv awnings" >RV awnings are incredible useful accessories that do more for you than simply provide shade. It can almost double the size of your RV by providing an external living area outside. For this reason, these are one of the first camping accessory upgrades that individuals add to their RV. If you have not begun your search for new rv awnings, then it is important that you begin that search as soon as possible.

Once you begin your search for a new awning, one thing that you will want to keep an eye out for is a sunblocker to go with your new awning. These accessories extend the protection of the awning to cover the sides leading down to the ground. This will almost guarantee that you will be protected from the strong rays of the sun during your time outside. This does not diminish the use of the current awning, so you are in good shape if you purchase this product.

One other accessory for your awning that you might wish to consider would be RV supports and rafters. These supports go along vertically to help stabilize the awning. The rafters go along the cloth to make sure it is fully supported. These additions are not mandatory by any means, but they do not take up any additional space and are relatively easy to install. This helps to guarantee that your awning will be able to withstand strong winds or other natural forces. There is no need to purchase these supports, but they are a nice feature to have.

As you can see, there are many reasons why the awning is one of the most popular aftermarket purchases available. It is not that big of a surprise when you consider the convenience that these products provide to your camping experience. If you would like to search through more accessories for rv awnings, then be sure to search for them online. There are many companies that can provide high quality products to you, so begin your search now.

The last trip we took in our RV almost became a disaster. We learned that you should really take good care of all your RV’s equipment, and you really should never take for granted that everything is going to work 100% of the time. If only we had done a better job keeping up with all the important parts in our vehicle, maintaining them and inspecting them, this “close call” never would have happened.

We had driven for days, stopping only on occassion to refuel or eat at a restaurant. We were in the middle of our trip, halfway across the Midwest, when we rolled into an empty RV camp that had very little to offer us. There were no water hook-ups, so we naturally relied on our water pump to provide for us. This was customary for us, and we had gotten used to it during this leg of our trip.

It had been awhile since anyone had tried to use anything that needed water. When our oldest daughter went to the kitchen sink to wash out a cup, she quickly discovered that our water pump had apparently broken down for some reason, leaving us in a really bad predicament. Having no hookups and no working water pump left us completely dry. We didn’t know what to do, but we had to make a decision. The most obvious thing to do was to hurry to the nearest town and look for an RV parts store.

So we got back on the road and drove for a few hours until we reached the nearest small town. Unfortunately, there were no RV parts to be found there at all. Things felt like they were going from “bad” to “worse,” until our savvy little twelve-year-old son suggested we try to find an interent signal. Amazingly, we were able to pick up a signal, just enough to get us to RV Parts Country. We immediately ordered a new Shurflo water pump and asked them to ship the part to us in the parking lot where we were staying at the time.

We received it within two days! The replacement pump solved our problems and we were able to continue our vacation.

Thank you RV Parts Country!
