What is the most annoying aspect of camping, according to many folks?
A lack of public restrooms in the woods.
Now, if you have an RV, you don’t have to worry about this so much. But there are pop-up campers and trailers that do not have toilets, so even though you’re able to go where you want and set up a place to stay while you’re there, you still won’t have a toilet to call your own, right?
Not if you have a Porta Potti! Thetford brand Porta Pottis (and yes, they are spelled that way on purpose) are an amazing item you really should not be without. Even if you have a camper equipped with a toilet of its own, the Porta Potti is small enough and portable enough to leave your camper and go with you into the woods or onto a boat; or it can be used as an emergency backup in case something goes wrong with your motorhome’s plumbing.
Portable toilets may seem like a funny topic, but the issue becomes quite serious when you find yourself in an uncomfortable position, having nowhere to go while really “needing to go!”
The Porta Potti comes in different sizes, and at least one model even has a battery-operated flushing mechanism! They contain deodorant compartments to eliminate unpleasant scents, a “no-spill” cap to prevent spills, removable seats and covers to make cleaning a snap, and they are lightweight yet sturdy.
There are many other reasons to own a portable toilet such as this, but the most important and obvious one is pretty clear: you never know when you’re RV’s toilet will quit working. If this happens to you, and you have no portable toilet, and you are on the road far away from civilization, what are you going to do?
