Using your RV shower while barreling down the highway at seventy-five miles per hour is not the smartest thing to do. My wife warned me not to do it, but I was really exhausted from a long day of hiking and bicycling, and I just didn’t feel like waiting until we stopped.
Don’t ever try this unless you’re completely certain your driver knows you’re in the shower.
I guess that’s where I messed up. I didn’t tell her I’d decided to get into the RV shower, so she didn’t even realize it. At first, everything was going just fine, but suddenly she took a sharp turn too fast and this caused me to lose my balance entirely.
First I slammed into the back wall of the shower, then I slipped and hit my head against one of the faucet knobs. This was not a good thing.
A few minutes later, I woke up on the shower floor, half of me sticking out into the rest of the bathroom, and water was absolutely everywhere. I’d probably drained half the holding tank or more while I was unconscious.
The mess was a problem, but I was more concerned with the fact that our shower hose was no longer in one piece. I’d somehow managed to rip it when I fell, and now we were facing a long vacation with no way to shower. Worst of all, we were nowhere near any place that might sell a shower hose.
So I contacted my favorite parts dealer, RV Parts Country. Their friendly customer service staff took our order over the phone and agreed to ship the part to the nearest RV Park, which we knew we’d arrive at by the end of the evening.
Our part came the next day, and we were able to get our shower back in working condition. Without RV Parts Country, we would have had no shower for most of our trip. Thank you guys for helping us out!!!
