I was tired of overpaying for parts and accessories for my rv. I bought my rv from a local dealership and every time that I went back there to purchase accessories or replacement parts I felt as if I were being ripped off. I decided that I needed to find a new retailer that could provide me with the parts and accessories that I needed for my rv.
My need for change first happened when my rv air conditioner broke down. I had just purchased the unit two years prior from the rv dealer. I barely had even used the unit and it completely broke. There was something wrong with this picture.
When I called the dealer they said they would be happy to install another rv air conditioner unit into my camper, but that I would have to pay for the new air conditioner and the installation. Of course they would be happy to get me to come in there again to over pay for another unit that was going to break down again!
I was furious. The dealer was selling low quality parts for premium prices and I was paying for them. I vowed that I would find another place to purchase my new rv air conditioner from. I bought my rv for enjoyment purposes, not to cause me additional stress.
One of my sons recommended that I look online for a retailer that sold parts and accessories. He told me that he shopped for everything online from clothing to electronics. I was a little hesitant at first; the only thing that I ever used the computer for was to look at sports stats and to email relatives.
My son offered to come over to my home and show me how easy it was. He got onto my computer and searched for rv air conditioner retailers. Within a few seconds dozens of retailer’s sites popped up and product listings. I had no idea that it could be so easy.
We browsed through several sites within a couple of minutes to get a feel for what they looked like and the different parts and accessories that they had to offer.
The first thing that I noticed was that the prices were significantly lower than what I had been paying the dealer. I even saw the exact same air conditioning unit that I had installed in my rv two years ago for one third of the price that I paid for the part alone.
There was one site that I really liked. It seemed as if they carried an extensive variety of merchandise for rvs. They had at least a dozen different air conditioners that I could choose from. I was able to purchase an air conditioner and its mount for half of what I paid for mine from the dealer.
